COURSE PROSPECTUS
Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.Th.) is a four and half year’s degree course including six months mandatory
internship. The scope of Physiotherapy practice covers a wide spectrum of disorders in orthopaedics,
neurology, cardiology, pulmonary, geriatrics & women’s health. In addition to clinical practice,
Physiotherapists have an equally vital role in academic & research activities. Physiotherapists are active in
the development of preventive health projects & are a part of sports bodies, industries, old age homes &
special schools.

INTAKE CAPACITY
Total intake capacity is 60 students per academic year.
DURATION OF THE COURSE
This is a four year full time course followed by mandatory six months internship.
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION/ SELECTION PROCESS
Students must secure a minimum of aggregate 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology subjects in HSC examinations. Students have to appear for CET conducted by MGMIHS.
HIGHLIGHTS OF TRAINING
Problem based learning approach and innovative educational strategies are used to facilitate integration
of clinical and basic sciences.
The entire curriculum is designed in modular content to make it student friendly. Mahatma Gandhi
Mission’s School Of Physiotherapy is a pioneer institute in the country to deliver such a modular
program.
Students are posted across various hospitals of Mahatma Gandhi Mission’s Trust which includes
Kalamboli, Belapur, Kamothe & Vashi under the supervision of clinical instructors &/ teaching faculty.
The Clinical training is provided in Physiotherapy Out Patient Department, Dept. of Medicine, Burns,
MICU, Dept. of Surgery, SICU, Orthopaedics & Trauma centre, Dept. of Gynaecology, Paediatrics &
Neonatal ICU & Hand Clinic.
Additionally students are posted in Old Age Homes, Industrial Settings, Community Health Settings &
Special Schools in the vicinity of MGM School of Physiotherapy.
Training in research is incorporated from the beginning of the course & encouraged throughout.
The School of Physiotherapy encourages organizing and / or participating in various academic, sports &
cultural activities at college, inter-college & national levels.
Admission Procedure
Eligibility for Admission/ Selection Process
Students should secure a minimum of aggregate 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology subjects in
Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination.
Students have to appear for CET conducted by MGM IHS.
