Administration and Governance
MGM Institute of Health Sciences administration functions through the various authorities created in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the UGC for Deemed Universities. At the Institute level, the officers of the Institute, such as the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor, Deans of the Faculties, Registrar, etc. have also been appointed, who have got constituted various academic and administrative bodies which are functioning in accordance with the provisions of the MOA and Rules and Regulations of the Institute.

The meetings of the various Authorities of the Institute namely : Board of Management, Academic Council, Planning & Monitoring Board, Advisory Board, Finance Committee, Faculty of Medicine, Board of Studies, Fee Fixation Committee, Grievances Committee are held regularly as per the schedule approved by the Institute.

In order to ensure proper standards in various courses leading to the award of the Institute’s degrees, a reliable and credible system of examinations has been created and admission procedure made competitive, quality based and transparent.

Functioning smoothly following the guiding principles, Rules and Regulations the administration has been streamlined to ensure efficiency reflected in maintaining the schedule of admissions, in timely completing the courses, conduct of examinations, declaration of results and conducting research, etc. As a guiding principle for a fair and just administration, faculty of the Institute is associated with the process of decision making at various levels. Students, too, are associated with the various administrative channels related to their education, curriculum and residential accommodation. Thus, in the pyramid of administration from top to bottom, all the segments of the Institute community make their respective contribution to it regularity and responsive administration of the Institute.

Since the Institute has Health Sciences Institutions imparting Medical, Paramedical and Nursing Physiotherapy, Bio-Medical Sciences, Health Management Education, each of its units is attempting to develop as centre of excellence. The administration of the Institute is as much federal as it is unitary. Even as it ensures uniformity and fairness in different wings, the Institute also allows enough autonomy to its individual constituents to realize their full potential in the special field in which each is imparting education and training. Both at the micro level as well as the macro, mechanisms have been created to register grievances and redress the same so that no disaffection and dissatisfaction is caused in any segment of the Institute community. Direct access of one and all, big and small to the Vice Chancellor of the Institute, Dr. S.N.Kadam, being always available on the campus, is the greatest secret of the most successful administration in place today in the field of Higher Education in the State.
